Terms of Service
Last updated: June 10, 2026
1. The service
papergarden is a tool for creating AI-illustrated books. You describe a book, define an art style and characters, and the service generates full-page illustrations and assembles them into a readable flipbook and print-ready PDF exports. By using papergarden you agree to these terms.
2. Accounts
You sign in with an email magic link or with Google. You are responsible for keeping access to your email or Google account secure, and for the activity that happens under your account. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your country to use papergarden.
3. Credits and payments
Image generation is paid for with prepaid credits. Each image you generate consumes credits. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never receive or store your full card details. Credits are not refunded when an individual generation fails or produces a result you do not like — generation is a best-effort, compute-based service. Unused credits remain on your account.
4. Your content
You own the reference photos you upload and the books you create. You grant papergarden the license needed to store, process, and transmit your content to our service providers in order to generate illustrations, render your book, and produce printed copies and PDF exports on your behalf. This license exists only to operate the service for you and ends when you delete the content.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use papergarden to create illegal content, to infringe others’ rights, or to upload photos of people without their consent. You may not attempt to abuse, overload, or reverse engineer the service. We may suspend or remove content or accounts that violate these terms.
6. AI-generated content
Illustrations are produced by AI models. Generated content may be inaccurate, imperfect, or not match your intent, and may resemble other works. You are responsible for reviewing what you generate before publishing, printing, or sharing it.
7. Service provided “as is”
papergarden is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that generated results will meet your expectations.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, papergarden is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the date above. Continuing to use papergarden after a change means you accept the updated terms.
